Booking & Payment
How do I book a tour?
You can book by phone or WhatsApp at (506) 2777-4000, by email at danteswatersports@gmail.com, or through our Contact page. We confirm availability within a few hours.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
For most tours, we hold your spot with your confirmation and you pay on the day of the tour. For Manuel Antonio National Park tours, ticket payment is required up front because park tickets are purchased immediately and are non-refundable.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash (USD or colones), major credit cards, and bank transfers. Tipping your guide is appreciated but never required.
Are there group discounts?
Yes — pricing scales down for larger groups on most tours. Reach out with your group size and dates and we'll send a custom quote.
Cancellations & Weather
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the tour are typically fully refundable. Cancellations within 48 hours or no-shows are non-refundable. Manuel Antonio National Park tickets are never refundable once purchased. See our full Cancellation Policy for details.
What happens if it rains?
Costa Rica is a tropical destination and rain is part of the experience — most tours run rain or shine. If conditions are genuinely unsafe, we'll contact you to reschedule or refund the affected portion of your booking.
Can I reschedule my tour?
Yes, we're happy to reschedule when possible. Let us know as early as you can so we can move you to a new date based on availability.
Surfing Lessons
Do I need experience to take a surf lesson?
Not at all. Our lessons are designed for complete beginners and we also coach intermediate and advanced surfers who want to level up. Most first-time students are standing and riding waves in their first session.
What's included in a surf lesson?
Board, rash guard, transportation to and from the beach (within Manuel Antonio / Quepos), water, and an ISA-certified instructor. Lessons are private or small-group depending on the package you book.
How old do you have to be to learn?
We've taught surfers as young as 4 and as old as 75. If you can swim and you're comfortable in the water, we'll get you up.
Where do the lessons take place?
We use Playa Espadilla in Manuel Antonio and nearby beaches depending on conditions. Your instructor chooses the safest, most beginner-friendly waves for the day.
Manuel Antonio National Park
Do I need a guide to enter the park?
A guide isn't required, but you'll see ten times more wildlife with one. Our naturalist guides carry high-powered scopes and know exactly where the sloths, monkeys, toucans, and snakes are hiding.
What do I need to bring?
Light clothing, closed-toe walking shoes, swimwear, sunscreen, and a refillable water bottle. No single-use plastic, no food, no alcohol — park rules.
Is the park closed on certain days?
Yes — Manuel Antonio National Park is closed on Tuesdays. Plan around it or pair your visit with another tour.
Why do you need my passport info?
Park tickets are tied to each individual visitor by name and passport number. We need full legal name, passport number, and country of issuance at least 48 hours before the tour.
Logistics & Local Info
Do you provide transportation?
Yes — pickup and drop-off from your hotel or rental in the Manuel Antonio / Quepos area is included in most tours.
What should I bring on a tour?
Swimwear, sunscreen (reef-safe preferred), a towel, water shoes or sandals, and a waterproof phone case if you have one. We'll let you know if your specific tour needs anything extra.
Is Manuel Antonio safe?
Manuel Antonio is one of the safest tourist areas in Costa Rica. Use standard travel common sense — don't leave valuables on the beach unattended — and you'll have a great time.
Do your guides speak English?
Yes — all of our guides and instructors are fully bilingual in English and Spanish.
Still have questions?
Our team is on the ground in Manuel Antonio and happy to help plan your trip.
